Egam Meadow, Surrey

Acquired: 1538

Egam meadow was part of the holdings of Chertsey Abbey, and connected with Runnymede. Henry VIII had already acquired the manor house of Chobham Park, held by Chertsey, for hunting, prior to the Dissolution. When the abbey was finally suppressed, Egam was added to the Crown holdings, and a hunting stand (or possibly small lodge) was built there. It was close enough to Windsor to be frequented by royal visitors from that quarter.

No remains of this structure are noted, and its exact location is unclear.
